Rotary Screen

The rotating drum screen with Externally Fed is a reliable self-cleaning wedge wire screen for both municipal wastewater operations as well as many industrial screen applications. This screening technology performs particularly well in wastewater with high oil or grease loadings as well as scum applications that can blind other types of screens. The screen is formed by a folded sheet, a rotating drum with small trapezoidal bars, a scraper, and a worm gear-motor. Entering the drum, the sewage leaves solids on the bars which are then transported by the rotating drum till deviated by the baffle in a suitable container — the baffle functions with adjustable counterweights to aid the removal of scum. The rotating drum screen is constructed slotted stainless wedge wire, cylindrical drums that rotate on two pillow block bearings. The screen typically has a lot of openings range from 0.100 to 0.010 inches. These screens feature 100% overflow protection from blinding for flows up to 5.0 mgd.

  • Flows from 110 to 4000 gpm
  • Drum Diameters range from 25 – 36 inches
  • Drum Lengths range from 12 to 120 inches
