Centrifugation is a mechanical separation process in which two or more materials are separated using centrifugal forces, in particular for the clarifying of liquids in which suspended solids are present.
A polymer, suitably chosen for its type and specific characteristics as well as dosage, may be added to the product being fed to the machine in order to improve the performance of solid-liquid separation. However, unlike other sludge separation technologies, the SEPARA decanter centrifuge LW can still achieve a high solid/liquid separation rate in many applications without slurry pre-conditioning.
